HME is currently looking for an Compensation/HR Generalist who will perform compensation duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations and employment law and compliance.
What you will be doing:
Compensation:
Implements domestic and global compensation programs, policies and procedures.
Participates in market data surveys and conducts benchmarking exercises.
Conducts job evaluations for organizational leveling and FLSA classification.
Matches internal positions to external market data using approved market pricing tool to determine salary ranges.
Maintains/updates global salary ranges.
Reviews proposed promotion and adjustment increases and counsels managers on compensation-related challenges.
Assists in administering the annual salary processes, as well as the annual and mid-year promotion processes.
Assists in preparation of merit increase and incentive programs and budgeting.
Reviews and monitors employee pay and recommends changes if necessary.
Designs and prepares ad hoc compensation related reports for management.
Partners with hiring managers to develop and revise job descriptions. Maintains database of all job descriptions.
Provides Talent Acquisition team with market data for new positions and works with managers on compensation-related issues.
Monitors and analyzes trending information, economic and wage projections to ensure the organization's compensation objectives and competitive market position are responsive to business needs, fiscally prudent, and legally compliant.
Employee Relations:
Assists with employee relations issues including performance improvement plans, discipline and terminations and makes recommendations to the HR Manager and/or VP of HR.
Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
Reporting & Compliance:
Maintains company organization charts.
Prepares HR reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data from HRIS.
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements.
HR Support:
Supports HR projects/initiatives and company events as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned including benefits administration
What you need to succeed in this position:
Bachelor's degree
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
8 plus years of progressiveCompensation/HR Generalist experience
Strong knowledge of California labor law. Knowledge of Canada and UK labor law a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of HRIS reporting, preferably with ADP Workforce Now
Exceptional communication skills, including oral, written and presentation skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail
Creative problem solving and critical decision-making skills
Exceptional customer service skills
Ability to work collaboratively within the HR department and across the organization.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
